Exploration activities in the Kalaya-an project consisted of extensive research and data integration, which has definitively identified and characterized several prospective targets within the EP area. Extensive geological mapping and sampling programs were completed. These include trenching, test pitting, and hand auger soil sampling.
Kalaya-an Geology
The project sited within EP XIII-00014 represents a possible bulk mineable, low sulphidation, epithermal stock-work gold target, with high-grade bonanza vein feeder structures. At depth, this epithermal mineralization may overprint an earlier high sulphidation copper-gold porphyry copper-gold style deposit. Geological, geophysical and geochemical data thus far recorded coupled with the extent of the alteration, aeromagnetic anomaly and geological structural setting; indicate high probability of the target area hosting a deposit comparable to or better than that of the Boyongan Porphyry Gold-Copper Deposit. In Boyongan, more than 100 million tons of oxide porphyry gold-copper mineralization has been fenced drilled and delineated by Anglo-Philex.
